Seeking actors, all ethnicities, 18-30, who sing and move well; To play characters ages 6 – 9.

All actors must have some experience on roller skates. Different levels of roller-skating skill are acceptable and to be expected in the casting process, but this experience cannot be the actor’s first time wearing a pair of roller skates.

Actors are not required to demonstrate roller-skating (or roller-blading) skills at this audition, but actors being considered for certain roles may be asked to do so at callbacks. Callback schedule TBD.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

  • CHARLIE BROWN – The “Everyman” of the Peanuts gang; a “woe is me” kid whose heart-on-his-sleeve attitude actually leads other to find the best in themselves.
  • SNOOPY – (For this actor, age range 18 – 40) Charlie Brown’s pet beagle. Energetic, creative, full of sass. Skill at improvisation important. A physical role with movement and/or dance training required and more advanced skills on roller skates (or roller blades) a definite plus.
  • LUCY – Linus’ older sister. Smart, bossy, a know-it-all, certainly ready to be more mature than she is and not afraid to let others know it. Big crush on Schroeder.
  • LINUS – Charlie Brown’s blanket-carrying best friend, Lucy’s little brother and Sally’s unwilling paramour. Extremely philosophical for an 8-year-old; intelligent and thoughtful.
  • SALLY – Charlie Brown’s little sister, the youngest of the group. Cute and adorable, perky and spunky, she reacts dramatically to most things in life. Huge crush on Linus.
  • SCHROEDER - A prodigy on the piano (piano skills not required of the actor but could be integrated into the play if actor is skilled), Lucy’s love interest; an admirer of Beethoven; a good friend to Charlie Brown.
  • PIG PEN – A hygienically-challenged little boy with a cloud of dust that follows him, but a heart of gold.
  • FRIEDA – A diva with a big head of naturally-curly hair and an attitude to constantly remind us about it.
  • VIOLET – Friend to Lucy and Patty. A bit of a boss and snobby.
  • PATTY – The original “Patty”; not Peppermint Patty. Friend to Lucy and Violet. Sometimes a bully to others. Along with Lucy and Violet, the three could be seen as precursors to “Mean Girls”.
  • SHERMY – Friend to Charlie Brown. Dry, dead-pan disposition; really tired of always being a “shepherd”.
